The following work reflects on the need to reassess the materials by which procedural law is usually taught in Chile at undergraduate level, i.e. an examination of the classical procedural law handbook. For these purposes this work analyzes from three different perspectives those handbooks that are commonly used, by examining its content and structure, the sources that they cite and the pedagogical resources they deploy. Likewise, considering the important changes the Chilean justice system has face in the last years and the handbook analysis, this work proposes and justifies the introduction of new substantive and pedagogical content that will update and enhance them as a teaching tool.
