The authors describe a detailed case study of a student who was preparing and writing papers on his subject. He attended 1/2 hour weekly sessions at the clinic, where papers he submitted to the subject specialist professor were analyzed carefully. It was found that what might not be clear or comprehensible to the ESL teacher might be perfectly acceptable to the subject specialist. Team work seems to be necessary, so that the student, the subject specialist and the ESL instructor (and perhaps a member of the reading audience) share in this task.
