This article explores some of Pedro Lemebel’s feminist claims. It mobilizes a situated close reading of the chronicle “La Leva.” This chronicle offers a testimony of the quotidian violence against women, and especially against those women who transgress the masculinist and heteronormative mandates of “sexual respectability”. The article explores Lemebel’s contribution to Latin American feminist efforts to resignify misogynist diatribes. Moreover, it theorizes traces of feminist, trans, transvestite and queer political coalitions that the Lemebelian prose allow us to imagine.
