Abstract

The purpose of the following lines is to address the meaning of the incorporation of the principle of probity to the Chilean Constitution, in 2005, and to review the role of the Comptroller General of the Republic, exposing some dysfunctionalities of the so-called "acknowledgement". The paper ends by proposing some ideas to redesign the control system of the Chilean Public Administration, so that it works as an effective guardian of probity and good public management.
