The Justicia of Aragón, guarantor of rights and freedoms

Authors

  • Fernando García Vicente Justicia de Aragón

Abstract

The author, Justicia of Aragón, makes reference to the fact that, after the approval of the 1978 Constitution, in which the figure of the Ombudsman is included as a guarantee for citizens against the power of the administration, there were several statutes of autonomy that were collected by similar institutions in the sphere of the respective autonomous communities: the Ararteko in the Basque Country, the Sidic de Greuges in Catalonia or, for example, the Valedor do Pobo in Galicia. All these regional figures and the state Ombudsman himself have in common with the Justicia of Aragon their mission of ensuring the proper functioning of the administration, taking care that it does not violate the rights and freedoms of citizens in its actions.
