The Mayan train megaproject in Mexico in light of the new Latin American constitutionalism and legal pluralism

Abstract

This document analyzes the impact of the megaproject called the Mayan train that is being developed in the Gulf-Southeast region of Mexico on the collective rights of indigenous peoples and communities, from two legal approaches: the new Latin American constitutionalism and Mexican legal pluralism,with the purpose of identifying the best solution to the conflicts related to the execution of said project, and the possible violation of human rights.
